Senandale Estate -
Flooding concerns.
We wish to add a note of concern that estates with pre-existing flooding are being put a further risk by lands nearby being over-developed.
We acknowledge the very real need for housing to be developed but this needs to be tempered with the very real difficulties that some home-owners face when trying to keep their houses free from flooding and the costs of insurance associated with same.
Residents in Senandale estate have experienced water coming into their houses and, up to very recently, water has been threatening the front and back doors of some houses.
Cloghroe and Tower were brought into the City with the recent re-drawing of the city boundary and so new density levels automatically apply. However, thse new density levels should be treated ona case-by-case basis and we trust the Council will seek to be wise in this regard and not create more problems than they are solving.
Density levels to be reviewed on case by case basis for each new proposed development.
Every plot of ground and its environs throws up very specific considerations unique to the location.
